Maimoni
14 km
The Maimoni beach as the nearby beach of Arutas, has as singularities sand with clear pebbles of pink quartz and white, with the many nuances that embellish and making it unique. We have to remember, though, that it is absolutely forbidden to carry away the quartz grains. The origin of the name is related to the god of water, Maimone precisely, to whose cult is also linked the church of San Salvatore, built in the seventeenth century on the ruins of an underground. Near the beach it is also the village of San Salvatore, long used in the sixties and seventies as a movie set from the Cinecittà film crew for shooting westerns. The dell’arenile length and gradual water depth makes the Maimoni beach accessible by children and very suitable for every type of pastime: be wary sea often shaken by high waves that can turn into danger just for the little ones.
